How to cancel a trade

How to cancel a trade in TCAdviser

(DMA) Permissioned users may cancel a trade from within any screen displaying trade history (Course of Sales, Trade or Depth screen).

  • A right-click on the selected FIRM trade offers the cancel-trade option.
  • Confirming cancellation sends the requisite message to market and the market acknowledgement is displayed to the user via the pop-up.

Upon cancellation by the other party to the trade (or upon cancelling both the buy side trade and the sell side trade in a crossing), the entry of trade in the trade history is noted as trade type 'Reversing'.

That a trade has been cancelled has no effect whatsoever on the status of the underlying orders(s) in TradeCentre.

If an order was filled or partially filled by virtue of the trade that was subsequently cancelled, the status does not change, the number of filled units is not reduced and the units subject of the cancellation do not re-appear in the market as shares pending execution. The process to re-establish a bid or offer in the market is entirely manual (a new order must be created).
